IT Project Manager
Job Title: IT Project Manager Start Date: ASAP Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Pay Rate: $50/hr Location: Cary, NC Schedule: Hybrid Job Summary: The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of technology initiatives across the organization. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives while maintaining high standards for quality, communication, and risk management. Working cross-functionally with engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders, the IT Project Manager coordinates project resources, manages timelines and budgets, and proactively addresses risks or issues that may impact project delivery. The role also supports process improvements and ensures effective communication between technical teams and business partners throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities:
- Owns end-to-end project coordination, ensuring project scope, timelines, and deliverables align with business priorities and strategic objectives.
- Develops detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets while managing resource allocation and project milestones.
- Coordinates internal teams, external vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of project activities.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for project communication, providing regular updates, status reports, and presentations to leadership and stakeholders.
- Identifies potential project risks and develops mitigation strategies to minimize impact on delivery timelines and project scope.
- Proactively resolves issues that arise during project execution, ensuring minimal disruption to progress and maintaining project momentum.
- Collaborates with engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and product teams to translate business requirements into technical project plans and deliverables.
- Oversees system implementations, integrations, software deployments, and technology rollouts, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and security policies.
- Ensures project deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements through effective coordination, testing oversight, and validation processes.
- Conducts post-implementation reviews and supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery, efficiency, and team collaboration.
- Supports change management activities including documentation, training coordination, and stakeholder adoption efforts.
- Bachelor"s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing IT or software development projects in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to proactively manage project risks and operational challenges.
- Experience using project management tools such as Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or other project management certifications.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, enterprise applications, or cybersecurity-related initiatives.
- Familiarity with ITIL or service management frameworks.
