Pay: $2,080.80/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse provides high-quality nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and advanced assessment. This position manages patients transitioning from critical care to medical-surgical units, including those with telemetry needs and complex medical conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking, adaptability, and a commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and progressive care patients with mixed acuity levels.
• Monitor, assess, and document changes in patient condition using telemetry and bedside monitoring equipment.
• Administer and titrate medications per protocol, including cardiac drips and IV therapies.
• Collaborate closely with charge nurses, CNAs, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Float to other progressive care or medical-surgical units as needed based on facility requirements.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact or state-specific).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU or Progressive Care experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Telemetry competency required.
• Experience with EMR systems (Cerner preferred).
• Must be able to work every other weekend; no on-call required.
• Positive attitude and teamwork skills essential.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
