Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP) North Carolina is a network of eight tuition-free, college-preparatory public charter schools educating approximately 3,000 students in grades K-12 across Durham, Halifax, Northampton, and Mecklenburg counties. Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressively increasing operational management experience in a growing organization, including line management in areas such as operations, compliance, transportation, technology, data analytics, school nutrition, student enrollment, or facilities.
• Previous experience in K-12 schools or education is required, with robust knowledge of public education, reform initiatives, and the charter school movement.
• Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Significant team management experience (5-10 years), including coaching and supporting top performers and developing managers.
• Strong commitment to continuous improvement, results-orientation, and ensuring student and teacher success, always prioritizing students' best interests.
• Ability to inspire teams to reach ambitious goals and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Excellent prioritization skills, flexibility, and adaptability in uncertain or changing environments.
• Experience developing and managing business systems to support regional growth.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to foster a collegial environment.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Additional Information

Compensation: Salary range between $145,000 and $160,000, plus comprehensive benefits including health care, retirement, and a laptop.

Location: Hybrid role with in-person and remote work, requiring travel across Charlotte, Durham, Halifax, and Gaston. The COO must reside in North Carolina, ideally in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area.
