Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy pickup trucks with trailers to deliver vacation gear across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Load, unload, and secure cargo using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts, ensuring items are protected during transit.
• Manage route driving efficiently by planning optimal delivery sequences to meet schedule commitments.
• Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries, addressing inquiries, and ensuring satisfaction.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
• Assist with warehouse activities including inventory management, loading supplies, and organizing storage areas.
• Load and unload cargo manually or with mechanical aids, applying proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including manifests and signatures, for record-keeping purposes.

Skills

• Proven experience as a delivery driver, particularly with box trucks or similar commercial vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of driving regulations related to heavy vehicles and trailer operation.
• Customer service skills that foster positive interactions with clients.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely during loading and unloading tasks.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations, including the use of forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Experience with route planning and navigation tools for efficient deliveries.
• Knowledge of manual transmission operation is preferred.
• Previous experience in moving or courier services is advantageous.
• Ability to operate commercial equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
