Machine Operator I

Schedule: Monday – Thursday (Night Shift) | 7 PM - 7:30 AM
Pay Rate: $20.50/hour
Employment Type: Contract (Potential for hire based on performance)

JOB OVERVIEW

Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques, and procedures. Applies foundational knowledge to complete routine assignments consisting of prescribed steps. Works within clearly defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adheres to quality guidelines. Operates under close supervision with limited discretion.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Manually package kits
• Perform cleaning functions
• Test and inspect parts for in-process quality checks
• Train other team members as needed
• Accurately complete required paperwork
• Pull raw materials for orders
• Feed raw materials onto the production line
• Clear common machine faults
• Perform basic machine setup and startup tasks
• Perform machine shutdown procedures
• Provide input for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Make minor adjustments to machine settings
• Follow and document procedures in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Adhere to all BD housekeeping policies and procedures
• Follow all BD safety policies and procedures
• Work overtime as required to meet business needs
• Perform additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks

SKILLS

Basic Skills:

• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong communication skills across departments
• Ability to recognize deviations from standard specifications

Proficient/Working Skills:

• Proficient in English (reading, writing, and comprehension)
• Ability to interpret charts and follow diagrams
• Basic arithmetic skills
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Windows environments
