HOW YOU WILL DO IT Purpose Statement: The purpose of the CAD Administrator SR role is to support engineering CAD and related systems within Plexus and increase the efficiency of tool use. Key Job Accountabilities:
    • Works with senior internal and external contacts to continually improve processes and systems within Plexus.
    • Owns the CAD toolset, including setup, validation, roadmaps, and management of licenses
    • Actively supports applications and scripts as tools, processes, and customer data requests change.
    • Coordinate the complete design process from library creation to released design, including but not limited to: design capture, pushing designs into PLM, and interfacing with the PCB layout and engineering groups as needed to resolve issues.
    • Receives little instruction on day to day work and general instructions on new assignments.
    Additional Accountabilities:
    • Supports the Lean culture and effectively utilizes Lean Sigma concepts and tools to identify and eliminate waste while improving processes.
    • Utilizes scripts and automation to improve processes across cross-functional boundaries and inter tool data transfer.
    • Owns and drives internal and external users' issues. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation and independent though.
    • Directly interface with customers to clearly and concisely communicate technical information.
    • Educate and enforce the use of standardized elements (templates, fasteners, PCB parts, formats) in CAD development.
    • Assist in the negotiation of maintenance costs for CAD, Database Management and applicable analysis Tools
    • Coordinate with IT support for server or client setup or maintenance.
    • Evaluate and prioritize purchases based on need, ROI, budget constraints and cost. Prepare documentation, including justification and forms, for all purchases related to these tools.
    • Function as the client side Administrator and Systems/Database Administrator for CAD data.
    • Train users in Product Data Management tools and the use of drawing formats
    • Manage floating license issues between Plexus business units for CAD tools.
    • Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated <10%)
    • Additional duties as assigned.
    Education/Experience Qualifications:
    • A minimum of a(n) Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science is required; a(n) Master's Degree is preferred
    • 5 years of related experience is required for this position, assuming education requirements are met; 7 years of related experience is preferred
    An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered. Other Qualifications:
    • Strong knowledge of other engineering disciplines within product development as well as test and manufacturing
    • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
    • Understanding of electrical product design methodology
    • Advanced decision making and problem solving skills
    • Advanced computer skills

    Work Environment:
    • The work setting should consist of an office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a low noise level.
