What The Senior Tax Accountant Does

In this dynamic role, you’ll gain broad exposure across corporate tax functions and play a key part in shaping the company’s evolving tax infrastructure.

Income Tax Compliance

• Prepare federal and multi-state corporate income tax returns with precision and ownership.
• Build and maintain multi-state apportionment schedules and manage compliance filings across multiple jurisdictions.
• Assist with quarterly and annual estimated tax payments , ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Support tax research and respond to IRS and state notices ; assist with audits as needed.

Tax Provision (ASC 740)

• Support quarterly and annual tax provision reporting , including deferred tax calculations and supporting schedules.
• Partner with the finance team and external auditors during the close process.

Property Tax Compliance

• Coordinate annual property tax listings and filings across multiple states.
• Ensure on-time filings and payments — supporting operational excellence at every level.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with teams across Finance, Accounting, Legal, and IT to support data flow and compliance accuracy.
• Partner with outside advisors and external service providers on complex compliance projects and process improvements.

Innovation & Process Improvement

• Utilize AI and automation technology to enhance tax process efficiency and streamline recurring workflows.
• Identify and implement process improvements that scale as the company continues to grow.
• Stay current with federal and state tax law changes to help keep the organization ahead of the curve.

What The Senior Tax Accountant Brings

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA or progress toward CPA highly preferred).
• 2+ years of corporate or public accounting tax experience.
• Strong understanding of corporate taxation, multi-state tax , and ASC 740 concepts.
• Proficiency in Excel ; experience with tax software such as OneSource or CCH Axcess is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• A growth mindset and willingness to embrace AI tools and emerging tax technologies .
