Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Winston Salem, NC 27157
• Healthcare Setting: Academic Medical Center, Level 1 Trauma, Chest Pain & Stroke Center
• Unit: Med/Surg/Telemetry – 8 Reynolds (29 beds)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (8/25/2025 – 11/22/2025)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (start time: 6:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1570 - $1680
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg/Telemetry nursing experience
• Strong Med/Surg/Tele background (first-time travel nurses with robust experience welcome)
• Proficient in reading telemetry strips
• Experience with chest tubes, tracheostomies, PIV starts, drains & tubes, PCA pumps, and gtts management (Amiodarone, Fentanyl PCA, Ketamine PCA, Heparin)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a high-acuity, fast-paced clinical setting

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care to a diverse Med/Surg/Telemetry population (including diabetes, GI, respiratory, renal, wounds, chest tubes, tracheostomies)
• Manage patient assignments with an RN ratio of 1:5-6
• Perform lab draws, wound care, and dressing changes
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips for patient safety
• Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, hospitalists, intensivists, and the rapid response team
• Utilize Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• Participate in facility and departmental orientation (NEO plus 2 days unit orientation)
• Contribute to a supportive, team-oriented, and highly reliable healthcare culture
