Job Overview Ready- Contractors, a respected name in the eastern North Carolina construction industry since 1969, is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team. Based in Greensboro, North Carolina, United States , this is a full-time position ideal for an individual passionate about providing exceptional service and contributing to a company known for its quality workmanship and reliability. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be the face of our company, assisting clients in our retail environment with their construction material and supply needs. This role offers a competitive hourly wage of $35.00 - $77.00 USD . Responsibilities- Greet and engage with customers in a professional and friendly manner, offering assistance and product advice.
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of our product range, including building materials, tools, and other construction-related supplies.
- Assist both trade professionals and the general public with enquiries, helping them select the best products for their projects.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Prepare quotes for customers and follow up on potential sales opportunities.
- Maintain the presentation of the retail space, ensuring it is clean, well-organised, and fully stocked.
- Assist with inventory management, including stock-taking and ordering.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to encourage repeat business.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a retail or customer service role is essential.
- A background in or knowledge of the construction industry, building materials, or a trade is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse customer base.
- A strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Good numeracy skills for processing payments and calculating quotes.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in the use of computers and POS systems.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
