As an unarmed, driving Security Officer in an educational location, you will conduct routine mobile and foot patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and assist staff, students, and visitors with directions and service needs. You will document observations, communicate clearly, and respond to concerns with professionalism. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients at an educational location by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting campus leadership and/or local emergency services as directed by post orders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, classrooms, parking areas and perimeter routes, noting unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify identification and/or authorization when required, and assist with directing students, staff, vendors and guests to the appropriate areas.
- Complete reports and logs using Allied Universal guidelines, including patrol observations, incident details, maintenance concerns and policy violations, and communicate updates during shift turnovers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
