Telemetry RN Job Details – Winston Salem, NC

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
• Location: Winston Salem, NC 27103
• Unit: Cardiac Telemetry (6th General - Electronic)
• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36 or 48 hours supported
• Contract Duration: 13-20 weeks (start: 8/25/2025, end: 1/12/2026)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Float Requirement: Yes, to other telemetry units
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend days per 6-week schedule
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Scrubs: Navy (not provided)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1660 - $1700

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience in a hospital or acute care setting
• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (must be valid by start date)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Proficient in cardiac drips (Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Lasix, Heparin)
• Skills: Telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central line care, rapid response, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, isolation precautions, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care
• Ability to float to other telemetry units as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• First-time travel nurses welcome

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients requiring cardiac telemetry monitoring, including those with chest pain, arrhythmias, pacemakers, or defibrillators
• Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms; manage dysrhythmias and administer cardiac drips as ordered
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, etc.)
• Accurately document patient care in Epic EMR
• Float to other telemetry units as needed based on census and skill set
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing clinical education
• Adhere to hospital policies, including call-off and fatigue management
• Maintain a collaborative, team-oriented approach and uphold professional behavioral standards
