Tool Design Engineer – Metal Stamping Expertise

Location: Triad, NC
Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000

About the Role

As a Tool Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, updating, and maintaining tooling systems that support high-volume metal stamping operations. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, tool & die, and production teams to deliver optimized solutions that meet stringent performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and redesign tools, jigs, dies, and fixtures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

• Perform engineering research, design development, and manufacturing engineering assignments.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all tooling changes and updates.

• Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks .

• Interface with management, tool room, and production personnel to ensure seamless execution.

• Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives .

• Stay current with the latest developments in tool and die design and production technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in metal stamping tool design, including progressive, transfer, and/or draw dies.

• Proficient in 3D AutoCAD and SolidWorks .

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

• Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Behaviors

• Knowledge of automation tool design is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
