PICU Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC
• Facility: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Self-scheduling available
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,010 - $2,280

PICU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent PICU nursing experience
• Ability to float to Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as needed
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record (EHR) system
• Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills

PICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients in a 9-bed PICU
• Perform advanced nursing procedures: IV starts, catheterizations, lumbar puncture assistance, central line dressing changes, hemodynamic monitoring, tracheostomy care, tube feeding and placement, intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, and ventilator management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EHR
• Comply with hospital policies, safety protocols, and unit guidelines
• Provide compassionate support to pediatric patients and their families
