Position Title: Civil Siteworks Project Manager
As an experienced Civil Siteworks Project Manager , you will be responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing a wide range of civil construction projects, specifically focusing on siteworks such as grading, utilities, drainage, and infrastructure development. You will ensure that projects are executed efficiently, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety and quality standards. Working closely with engineers, architects, and contractors, you will coordinate site activities, manage resources, and ensure all siteworks projects are completed according to specifications.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil construction, with expertise in grading and utility installation, and a proven ability to manage complex projects. You should have excellent organizational skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a keen eye on budgets and deadlines.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to determine project specifications, ensuring all findings are communicated clearly to the Director of Operations.
- Interpret and review site plans for civil works, ensuring that the design and execution align with the project’s goals.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with external vendors for supplies, subcontractors, and equipment, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with company standards.
- Obtain necessary permits and licenses for siteworks, coordinating with the Land Acquisition Manager when applicable.
- Assess and plan the required resources (manpower, equipment, materials) for civil siteworks projects, ensuring the project stays within budget constraints.
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, breaking down tasks into manageable phases to meet deadlines, with approval from the Director of Operations.
- Oversee procurement of materials and equipment, monitoring stock levels to prevent delays.
- Supervise the work of on-site crews, including laborers, operators, supervisors, and mechanics, providing direction and guidance to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Monitor project progress, providing regular updates and reports through HCSS, and hold meetings with project supervisors to ensure consistency in methods and communication.
- Deliver weekly project updates to the Director of Operations, highlighting any delays, risks, or changes to the original scope.
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations, documenting safety meetings, incident reports, and inspections via the HCSS application.
- Manage and coordinate multiple civil siteworks teams and projects, assigning tasks to supervisors, scheduling crews, and ensuring the proper allocation of equipment.
Job Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing civil siteworks projects, particularly in grading, utilities, drainage, and other site preparation activities.
- Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and processes, including knowledge of site-specific regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work independently while following LeoTerra's SOP and maintaining project goals.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick decisions to overcome obstacles or delays.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), and familiarity with project management software (HCSS).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read, interpret, and execute site plans, ensuring all team members understand how to complete work per project specifications.
- In-depth knowledge of safety standards and regulations specific to civil construction projects.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities, with experience working in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to compute basic calculations, read scales, and apply simple fractions.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequent walking across large, rough terrain construction sites.
- Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds and perform physical tasks related to civil siteworks.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
