Pipe Fitters – Charlotte, NC

Pay: $30–$35 per hour

Job Type: Contract

We are looking for skilled Pipe Fitters with experience in fabricating, assembling, and installing piping systems using copper and carbon steel . The ideal candidate will be proficient in blueprint interpretation, isometric drawings, and pipefitting standards to ensure precise layout and alignment.

• Interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and isometric drawings for accurate pipe routing.
• Perform material take-offs and calculations for copper and carbon steel systems.
• Cut, thread, groove, and bevel pipe ends using appropriate tools.
• Fabricate pipe spools and assemblies with precise measurements.
• Install piping systems ensuring correct pitch, alignment, and support spacing.
• Fit and align pipe sections using clamps and alignment tools.
• Secure joints via brazing, soldering (copper), and welding prep (carbon steel).
• Install flanges, gaskets, valves, and hangers with proper torque.
• Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests for system integrity.
• Inspect joints for leaks and compliance with specifications.
• Follow OSHA safety standards and PPE requirements.
• Collaborate with welders, plumbers, and supervisors to meet project timelines.

• Experience: 3–5 years in pipefitting with copper and carbon steel.
• Skills: Brazing, soldering, threading, and blueprint reading.
• Familiarity with pipefitting tools and industry codes (ANSI, NFPA).
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces.

• Pipefitting or Plumbing Certification.
• Experience with industrial piping (HVAC, process piping, mechanical systems).
• OSHA 10/30 certification.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
