Job Details – Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Charlotte, NC)
- Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel contract)
- Location: Charlotte, NC 28204 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
- Facility Setting: Hospital-based Nuclear Medicine Department
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (August 27, 2025 – November 26, 2025)
- Shift Schedule: 8-hour days, Monday – Friday (07:00 – 15:30)
- Weekly Hours: 40
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1890 - $1940 per week
- Call Requirement: Rotational call on Saturday/Sunday (6a–11a, must arrive within 30 minutes)
- Float Requirement: Float to local Charlotte area medical centers as needed
- Orientation: 24 hours on unit
- Unit Details: 3 rooms, average daily census 14–21
- Equipment: All GE nuclear medicine equipment
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- NMTCB certification required (no exceptions)
- PET scan experience required
- Experience with adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient populations
- Proficiency in Epic charting system and NUCTRAC
- Active NC or Compact state license (must be in hand by start date)
- Ability to float to affiliate hospitals in the Charlotte area
- Strong clinical skills in:
- Gastric Emptying, HIDA Scan, Muga Scan, PET Scan
- Bone & Brain Scans (3 phase, limited, whole body, cerebral blood flow)
- Liver/Spleen Scans (liver flow, imaging, hemangioma)
- Lung Scans (DTPA aerosol, perfusion, ventilation/perfusion)
- Renal Flow (flow/function, perfusion, 3 phase, with Lasix)
- Thyroid Studies (cancer survey, I-123 uptake, uptake scan)
- Tumor Localization (limited & whole body)
- SPECT (bone, brain, liver, renal, sestamibi parathyroid scan)
- Myocardial (pharmacological stress, thallium stress test)
- Professional skills: venipuncture, isolation precautions, management/lead experience, starting and maintaining peripheral IVs, handling/disposal of radioactive materials
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Perform all routine and advanced nuclear medicine scans and procedures using GE equipment
- Deliver high-quality patient care to diverse populations (adults, pediatrics, geriatrics)
- Participate in rotational weekend call coverage as required
- Float to other Charlotte-area medical centers to support clinical operations
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and NUCTRAC systems
- Adhere to all safety protocols for radioactive materials
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Engage in unit orientation and ongoing professional training
