General Manager - Commercial Painting

Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide comprehensive oversight of daily operations within the region, guiding project managers and office personnel to maintain profitability.
- Offer support and supervision to estimators and project managers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to cost parameters and project schedules.
- Review project proposals to define timeframes, budgets, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Develop work plans and staffing arrangements for new projects; oversee recruitment and assignment of project personnel.
- Prepare project reports for senior leadership, addressing technical issues and resolving problems highlighted in weekly reports.
- Coordinate with government regulatory agencies as necessary and supervise company equipment maintenance, ensuring inventory sufficiency and operational readiness.
- Drive business development and client relationship growth within the region and potentially across other locations.
- Collaborate with the corporate office to manage monthly and yearly budgets, aligning with job and overhead goals.
- Manage contract backlog to achieve budgeted revenues; monitor job costing and cost reports on a weekly basis.
- Assume ownership of profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities.
- Maintain optimal staffing levels, focusing on retention, turnover reduction, and operational efficiency improvements.
- Foster and maintain relationships with General Contractors; uphold and promote a positive company image.

Experience and Qualification
- 7+ years of operations management experience in commercial painting / coatings, construction, subcontracting, or other related and transferable industry.
- Proven experience managing budgets and P&L.
- Strategic problem solver with exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Humble, transparent leader with a growth mindset and collaborative spirit.
