PRN Outpatient Physical Therapist
HSHP Outpatient Therapy is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist (PT). This individual is responsible for providing care in the outpatient setting. The PT will assist in a variety of patient care activities, including tests, measurements, and support in complex procedures. They will work with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement the course of care for each patient. They are also responsible for adhering to the department’s treatment schedule, clinical procedures, and billing documentation for each of their patients. The PT will work with and instruct patients, family members/caregivers of the patient on their treatment plan and how to implement that program at home.
The PRN Outpatient Physical Therapist is responsible for rehabilitating persons with physical disabilities. Patients include accident victims and individuals with disabling conditions such as back pain, arthritis, heart disease, fractures, head injuries, and neurological conditions. Essential Job Duties:- Helps to restore physical function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent permanent disability. Assists in restoring, maintaining, and promoting overall fitness and health.
- Examines patients’ medical histories. Tests and measures patients’ strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, muscle performance, respiration, and motor function.
- Determines patients’ ability to be independent and reintegrate into the workplace or community after injury or illness.
- Develops plans describing a treatment strategy, its purposes, and its anticipated outcome. The plan often includes exercise regimens, at the medical center and at home, to increase flexibility, strength, or endurance. May use electrical stimulation, hot packs, cold compresses, and ultrasound to relieve pain and reduce swelling.
- Documents patients’ progress, conducts periodic examinations, and modifies treatments with emphasis on the identification of areas requiring more/less attention
- Attend all required staff trainings and meetings.
- Clinical supervision of LPTAs.
- Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, and safety procedures. Abide by all federal, state, and local regulations.

Education and Experience:
- Education: Master's or Doctoral Degrees in Physical Therapy. Current N.C. physical therapist license.
- Experience: Two years’ experience as a physical therapist in a clinic setting preferred but not required.
- Other : Valid N.C. Driver’s License, and dependable transportation.
