Overview

Lattimore Baptist Church is seeking a pastor who is called by God, led by the Holy Spirit, and dedicated to serving both the church and the surrounding community. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a shepherd’s heart, a strong commitment to biblical teaching, and a passion for helping individuals grow in their faith.

Primary Responsibilities

· Lead worship services and deliver biblically sound, engaging sermons that inspire spiritual growth.

· Share the Gospel with clarity and conviction, guiding individuals toward salvation through Jesus Christ.

· Provide spiritual guidance, pastoral counseling, mentorship, and support to the congregation.

· Oversee the planning and facilitation of church events, including retreats, workshops, and outreach programs.

· Develop and implement educational programs for children, youth, and adults.

· Offer crisis and conflict management support to those facing personal or family challenges.

· Participate in community outreach initiatives to promote the values of our church and to build relationships with local organizations.

· Collaborate with church leadership and staff to plan and execute services and ministries that promote spiritual growth and community development.

· Provide oversight and administrative leadership for all paid church staff, including supervision and evaluation of their responsibilities.

· Offer Christian counseling to individuals dealing with emotional or spiritual challenges.

· Lead the congregation in the observance of the Lord’s Supper quarterly.

· Support and participate in hospice care efforts and related ministries.

· Provide spiritual and emotional encouragement to members through home, hospital, and care facility visits.

· Complies with all Lattimore Baptist Church Bylaws and all church‑approved Policies and Procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Strong leadership abilities and a demonstrated capacity to mentor others.

· Excellent preaching, teaching, and communication skills.

· Experience in conflict resolution and crisis management.

· Ability to minister effectively to individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

· Knowledge of Christian counseling principles for pastoral care.

· Experience in event planning and ministry coordination.

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.

· Familiarity with hospice and community service ministries.

· A deep understanding of Christian theology and its role in daily living.

· A genuine passion for serving others and fostering meaningful relationships.

· Maintains a strong and consistent personal relationship with the Lord through daily devotion, prayer, and spiritual discipline.
