Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the 2026-2027 academic year in Denton, NC, providing an excellent opportunity to support students with diverse learning needs in a school-based setting. The role requires an active North Carolina Special Education certification with a focus on the general curriculum, along with experience using ECATS, the state’s electronic case tracking system.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with special education needs in accordance with the IEP (Individualized Education Program)
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success and compliance with educational standards
• Utilize ECATS to document, track, and manage student progress and compliance reporting
• Maintain a positive, engaging classroom environment conducive to learning and development
• Participate in team meetings, assessments, and professional development activities as required by the school and district

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid NC DPI Special Education certification (General Curriculum)
• Proven experience teaching in a special education setting, preferably within North Carolina schools
• Proficiency in ECATS for managing student records and compliance documentation
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive educational atmosphere

Location:This position is onsite only at schools in Denton, NC, including various elementary, middle, and high schools within the district.
