At Appalachian Community Services, we are looking for dedicated LPNs to provide essential crisis care at our Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC).

As a BHUC LPN, you'll play a key role in supporting individuals during critical moments, providing care that is solution-focused and client-centered. Minimum Requirements:

  • Must meet the following qualifications:
    • Completed an Approved Nursing Program
    • Licensure through the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Annual salary for this position is $60,000

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Foundational knowledge of behavioral health principles.
  • Ability to provide compassionate care in a crisis setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively within the BHUC team.

Position Description:

  • Completion of telephonic Screenings to assess appropriateness for admission consideration.
  • Completion of nursing screenings for BHUC arrivals, which may include a pregnancy test, urine drug screen, and breathalyzer.
  • Collaborate with prescribers to review clinical information, discuss medication needs, and determine appropriateness for BHUC admission or alternative care options.
  • Prepare, administer, and monitor medications as prescribed.
  • Provide ongoing medical oversight throughout the individual's stay.
