Staff Counsel, Brand Consulting, Culinary & Experiences

STAFF COUNSEL – BRAND CONSULTING, CULINARY & EXPERIENCES – OVERVIEW:
Elevate is seeking an attorney to support its Brand Consulting, Culinary and Experiences verticals. The role will be hybrid, approximately 40 hours per week, based in Charlotte, NC with at least 3 days per week in Elevate’s Charlotte office. This role will report to one of Elevate’s Associate Corporate Counsel, also based in Charlotte.
VERTICAL OVERVIEWS:
A. Brand Consulting Vertical
· Elevate’s Brand Consulting vertical focuses on consultative services and building platforms/programs within sports, entertainment and lifestyle marketing with domestic and international brands.

B. Culinary Vertical
· Elevate’s Culinary vertical focuses on talent representation for chefs and influencers, hospitality & sponsorship consulting, and brand development and marketing in the culinary space.

C. Experiences Vertical
· Elevate’s Experiences vertical creates and plans extraordinary experiences for brands and individuals, which may range from concerts to professional boxing events or other mega sports events. Through bespoke offerings, Elevate crafts packages that may include lodging, transportation, hospitality, and exclusive events.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as main point of contact for team members on the Brand Consulting, Culinary and Experiences verticals as it relates to the legal process.
Prepare, review, and negotiate various types of commercial agreements, including services agreements and statements of work, vendor and supplier agreements, transportation and hotel agreements, talent, appearance, and influencer agreements, license agreements, and non-disclosure agreements in support of Elevate’s Brand Consulting, Culinary, and Experiences teams.
Create, implement and refine contract templates and contract process workflows within Elevate’s contract management system in support of Elevate’s Brand Consulting, Culinary and Experiences verticals.
Establish strong, proactive working relationships with leadership and other team members in the Brand Consulting, Culinary and Experiences verticals.
Apply for and maintain licenses, permits and other registrations in various jurisdictions as required for Elevate’s Brand Consulting, Culinary and Experience verticals.
Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations and monitor regulatory developments to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance for Elevate’s Brand Consulting, Culinary and Experiences verticals.
Conduct comprehensive research on a variety of legal issues and provide clear, concise advice and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with other members of the Elevate legal team to ensure a unified and consistent legal strategy across the organization, including coordinating reviews, sharing institutional knowledge, and leveraging internal expertise.
Assist with any other projects, tasks, duties or initiatives as designated by the Elevate legal team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The qualifications listed below represent the credentials necessary to perform the essential functions of this position. A. Education and/or Experience
Undergraduate degree and J.D. from an accredited institution.
Active member of the North Carolina State Bar or otherwise authorized to practice in North Carolina under North Carolina’s in-house counsel exception under North Carolina Rules of Professional Conduct Rule 5.5.
Approximately one (1) to five (5) years of corporate or transactional legal experience at a law firm or in-house setting, with demonstrated experience negotiating, drafting and reviewing commercial agreements.
Strong record of academic performance at both the undergraduate and law school levels.
Prior experience (either legal or non-legal) in the sports, hospitality and/or live entertainment industries is preferred.
B. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Exceptional contract drafting and review skills.
Great written and oral communication skills, with the ability to distill complex legal concepts and/or risks into easily understandable and actionable insights for the business.
Strong legal research, writing, analysis and problem-solving skills.
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-pace, rapidly evolving corporate environment.
Willingness to take on complex projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Business-first, entrepreneurial mindset.
Team-first mentality and willingness to collaborate across a large organization with employees across the world.
Desire to learn new skills (both legal and non-legal) and tackle any task assigned by the Elevate legal team.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Travel Requirements : Travel will generally not be required for this position.
Physical Demands : This position requires sitting for extended periods while using a computer or phone.
Work Environment : This position will work primarily in an office environment located in Elevate's Charlotte, NC office.
