Meet West Cab Church
West Cabarrus Church is a Christ centered church in Concord, North Carolina, that exists to glorify God by making more and better disciples from neighborhoods to nations. The church offers Sunday worship services at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM along with ministries for children, students and adults. Visitors can expect a welcoming atmosphere, biblical teaching, meaningful worship, and opportunities to connect through small group membership classes, baptism, and serving. The church is committed to helping people grow in their faith while sharing the message of Jesus in the local community and around the world.

About the Worship Pastor
We’re looking for a musically-gifted, spiritually-mature, biblically-grounded Christian to lead worship ministries at our church under the direction of our Lead Pastor. The ideal candidate has experience leading worship at a similar-sized church and experience leading worship teams.

Purpose: To serve the church and help achieve our vision, mission, and goal. This position provides oversight and direction to all worship services and worship volunteers, thereby freeing the Lead Pastor to focus on preaching, teaching, leadership, vision casting, and multiplication.

The Worship Pastor’s responsibilities include:
Work with the Pastoral Team to plan the worship services.
Lead the musical portion of worship services.
Demonstrated proficiency in organizational software (preferably Planning Center).
Develop a process to regularly identify and deploy new volunteers in the church’s worship ministry.
Shepherd, train, manage, and care for the volunteer worship teams.
Develop an annual worship ministry budget and be able to work within that budget.
Look for ways to inspire non-musical worship for the church body (i.e. Lord’s Supper and Liturgy).
Oversee the staff and team of the church’s worship tech ministry.
Oversee the live-stream and in-house presentation of our Worship Services.
Effectively manage a team of staff, freelance, and volunteer content creators and content managers (print, web, video, social media, etc.) in a manner that aligns our various communications venues. (this could be moved under my supervision if the current worship candidate isn’t equipped to oversee this area).
Be available to preach and teach the Bible when asked.
Participate in pastoral duties (officiating weddings and funerals, counseling, on call, etc.) as needed.
Attend all church staff meetings and retreats.

What you bring
The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Worship Pastor:

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and some formal theological training is preferred.
At least 5 years of ministry experience on staff in a leadership capacity at a local church.
Personal Characteristics and Qualifications
A growing personal relationship with Christ.
Possess strong character, wisdom, and discernment.
A lifestyle congruent with the Biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9).
Fully supportive of the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000.
Significant skill as a singer and musician.
Should have experience leading and managing teams.
