Knitting Mechanic – 2nd Shift (Manufacturing)

- 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday–Friday
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Knitting Machine Mechanic to keep our machines running smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you will troubleshoot issues, perform repairs, and handle routine maintenance to help minimize downtime and keep production on track.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair circular and/or flat knitting machines
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to reduce machine downtime
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues and implement timely solutions
- Replace or repair defective components such as needles, sinkers, cams, feeders, and yarn carriers
- Set up machines for style changes and production runs
- Calibrate machines to ensure quality standards and fabric specifications are met
- Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
- Assist in training machine operators on basic maintenance procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or technical certification in mechanical or industrial maintenance preferred
- 2+ years of experience maintaining knitting or textile machinery
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, gears, bearings, and drive systems
- Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends as required
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise and moving machinery
