Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Winston Salem, NC 27103 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1810–$1860
• Healthcare Setting: Women's Unit – High Risk Antepartum & Labor and Delivery
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: May float to Labor & Delivery, Pediatrics, and Mother Baby units
• Unit Details: 18 beds, average daily census of 12, couplet care (1:4-5), high risk antepartum focus

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (required)
• First-time travel nurses welcome
• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (required at time of start)
• Certifications: AWHONN Beginner/Intermediate, BLS, NRP, Intermediate EFM experience and course
• Skills: Fetal monitoring, reading EFM strips, antepartum nursing, couplet care
• Preferred: High risk antepartum experience, PICC/CVC management, insulin drips, telemetry
• Epic charting experience preferred

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to antepartum, laboring, and postpartum patients
• Perform and interpret fetal monitoring and EFM strips
• Manage high risk antepartum patients, including those with PICC lines and insulin drips
• Provide couplet care for mothers and newborns
• Float to Labor & Delivery, Pediatrics, and Mother Baby units as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services, etc.)
• Utilize Pyxis and Epic for medication administration and clinical documentation
• Participate in unit and hospital orientation during the first week of contract
