SERVICE TECHNICIAN - HVAC

Thermal Solutions is looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team. The Field Service Technician will be based out of our Youngsville NC office and is responsible for providing on-site client installation, repairs, and maintenance of their equipment.

The ideal candidate is prompt and reliable, has superior support skills and excellent communication. He/she will have a proven track record of client satisfaction and is motivated to provide superior service.

Responsibilities:

Service Calls & Diagnostics

• Run residential HVAC service and maintenance calls independently
• Diagnose system issues including electrical, airflow, and refrigerant-related problems
• Perform accurate testing (voltage, amp draw, static pressure, superheat, subcooling) to confirm system performance

• Complete repairs correctly the first time using proper procedures
• Verify system operation after repairs to ensure safe and reliable performance
• Identify potential issues and recommend appropriate solutions based on system condition

• Clearly explain findings and repair options to homeowners in a professional, straightforward manner.
• Answer customer questions and ensure they understand system operation and maintenance needs.
• ​​​​​​​Deliver a strong overall customer experience from arrival to job completion.

Documentation & Process

• Document all work, findings, and recommendations in Housecall Pro
• Follow company processes for service, communication, and job completion
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and company vehicle

• Assist with install or project work during slower service periods
• Communicate with office staff and team members to keep jobs moving efficiently

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

• 3+ years of residential HVAC service experience
• Ability to run service calls independently from diagnosis to repair
• Strong troubleshooting skills (electrical, airflow, refrigerant systems)
• Comfortable performing system testing (voltage, amp draw, superheat, subcooling)
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Basic hand tools
• Willingness to follow company processes and documentation standards

Preferred (Not Required)

• EPA Certification (or willingness to obtain quickly)
• Experience using service software (Housecall Pro or similar)
• Experience working directly with homeowners
