Conventional and CNC Machinist

This position is for an experienced, well rounded Conventional and CNC Machinist. The Qualified Candidate must already possess the ability to perform the following:
Set Up Procedures:
- Properly Indicate the Head of a Vertical Milling Machine with a dial indicator.
- Set up and use indexable boring head in Vertical Milling Machine.
- Know and Understand how to use a Co-Ax indicator.
- Know and understand the use & set up of a common Digital Readout as well as the machine’s dials.
- Set up and indicate a 4 jaw Lathe chuck.
- Know and Understand how to work with collet system in a conventional lathe.
- General Blueprint Reading and understanding of common tolerances are a Must.
- Setup, operation, and fixturing for 4-axis CNC vertical milling machines.
- Setup and operation of CNC lathes with jaw or collet chuck
- Operate Lathes with proven efficiency.
- Operate Manual Milling Machines with proven efficiency included with a good understanding of quick-change overs
- Operate conventional Broaching Machine Tool.
- Know and understand the process of milling keyways accurately in a vertical milling machine.
- Know and understand the process of Broaching Keyways.
- Know and Understand turning procedures used to produce precision Bores and diameters for Bearings and Shaft Journals.
- Know and Understand threading procedures.
- Have a well-rounded knowledge and understanding of the proper FEEDS & SPEEDS for machining Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel.
- Experience with working with cast materials / castings.
- Must be prepared to maintain basic fluid Levels- (Way oil, Coolant, etc) in his or her machine.
- Maintain and clean a safe work area by keeping chips and shavings up.
$24/hr. to $25/hr. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· High School Diploma or GED
Desirable
- Welding Certification
- Degree in Millwright
- Journeyman Certification
As an Erector Fabricator working with food processing equipment, there are certain physical requirements that you will need to meet to effectively perform your duties.
- Strength and Endurance : The job may involve lifting heavy objects, carrying equipment, and standing for long periods. Therefore, having physical strength and endurance is important.
- Manual Dexterity : Precise assembly of machinery parts often requires good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle tools and components with accuracy.
- Mobility and Flexibility : You may need to work in confined spaces, bend, kneel, crouch, or reach overhead to access different components of the equipment.
- Visual Acuity : Reading blueprints, inspecting parts, and ensuring proper alignment of components require good vision to perform tasks accurately.
- Hearing Ability : Being able to hear instructions and safety warnings in a noisy environment is crucial for maintaining a safe workplace.
- Safety Awareness : Awareness of safety protocols and the ability to follow safety guidelines to prevent injuries while working with potentially hazardous equipment.
- Stamina : The job at times may involve working long hours in physically demanding conditions, so having the stamina to sustain performance throughout the workday is important. Example, uncontrolled environments, hot in summers, cooler in winter.
