Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Safety Responsibilities:
• Record and track any opened safety action items. Drive safety incident closures.
• Prepare for and deliver safety incident reviews as required
• Own and drive safety targets for the department(s)
• Perform JSA/safety audits as required
• Work closely with project teams to ensure the delivery of safe equipment/procedures
• Be very proactive in finding and fixing safety issues
• Develop and implement safety awareness and improvement programs.
• Work with shift safety coordinators to help achieve department safety objectives
• Assist Draw employees with safety iKaizens as needed
• Be the safety leader for the department and lead by example
• Enter SARS data for Draw personnel and cash out SARS points
• Transfer Good Catches to SCAT database
• Prepare for and lead safety meetings
• Track, Update, and report out safety metrics at required intervals
• Attend required safety meetings and report out to supervisor outcomes of those meetings

 

DOC Tech Responsibilities:
• Responsible for communicating any SOP / PDC changes and ensuring all proper LAR documents are completed and turned into WFD. Create PP/one pager if additional slides are needed for training.
• Communicate, train, and educate documentation changes to associates via LARs.
• Update SOP and other procedures as needed.
• Submit and process training document changes.
• Provides support for new products, procedures, and/or equipment introduction.
• Fully understand the SOP and work with the training leaders to convey effective training to shift trainers and personnel as needed.
• Responsible for updating SOP and document reviews
• Assist in ISO/DARM audits and preparation.
• Production support as needed and overtime support on weekends if needed

 

Applicant Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
Required:
• Proficiency with MS Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Concord safety and documentation systems.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities while working in an irregular work environment with changing priorities and multiple tasks.
• Must have the ability to function independently with minimal supervision and with strong attention to detail and follow up/completion of assigned action items.
• Ability to handle/prioritize multiple tasks as necessary.
• Strong teamwork and leadership skills. Approach work with positive attitude.
• Experience with or a thorough understanding of Concord documentation writing, PDC process, and training systems.
• Comfortable speaking in front of and presenting to a variety of audiences.
• Motivated, self-starter with a positive attitude.
• Must maintain certification and function as FM PA on shift.

The range for this position is ​$22.00 hourly rate - $25.25 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
