- Manage accounting department staff
- Participate as Property Accountant to Property Manager
- Prepare and implement annual performance plans for accounting staff
- Coordinate tax return preparation with outside CPA firm
- Manage the company s financial accounts, payroll, budget, and cash flow objectives.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and procedures including maintaining financial security by establishing internal controls.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing, including preparation of journal entries, account/variance analysis, and coordination of audits.
- Generate accurate client and corporate financial statements, in accordance with Gaap and internal policies and procedures.
- Assist in setting up financial systems and metrics that will measure and communicate accurate financial status.
- Improve accounting department systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Analyze major variances to property and corporate budgets, forecast and prior year; and submit results to the operating management.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of capital reserve studies.
- Contribute as needed to the area of property and corporate budgeting.
- Streamline department functions to ensure optimal productivity, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Ensure accounts payable and receivable are accurate and current.
- Manage corporate cash forecasting and project cash needs and usage.
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting processes and personnel.
Experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager (5-7 yrs accounting with 2-5 years supervisory)
Ability to manage people
Ability to maintain accurate records
Technically proficient with computer
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Program Suite
Proficient in QuickBooks
BS in Accounting (CPA a plus)
