Assistant Controller – Multi-Company Operations

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the accounting and financial operations of a group of affiliated companies. This position is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who values flexibility, stability, and the opportunity to contribute to a well-organized, multi-entity environment.

The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, and efficient day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for multiple entities.
• Oversee and coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
• Administer and reconcile bi-weekly payroll , benefits, and related reporting requirements.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including intercompany transactions and consolidations.
• Collaborate with external accountants and auditors as needed.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of improved accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Provide analytical support to management and assist with ad-hoc financial projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Associate’s degree with equivalent experience may be considered).
• Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or multi-location environment.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks , Excel , and modern accounting or ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and accounting best practices.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational ability.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
