Manufacturing Equipment Reliability Technician
Role Snapshot
Keep production humming by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the machines that power a modern manufacturing operation. As a Manufacturing Equipment Reliability Technician, you’ll blend hands-on mechanical work with electrical diagnostics to maximize uptime and safety across the plant.
A Day in the Life
You start by reviewing your CMMS for scheduled PMs, then head to the floor to inspect conveyors, motors, pumps, and gearboxes. A call comes in for a breakdown—you respond immediately, isolate energy using LOTO, and dive into root-cause troubleshooting. You might trace a 480V circuit, swap a faulty sensor, adjust a VFD parameter, or verify a basic PLC input/output. After restoring operation, you log the repair, then shift to planned work: aligning shafts, changing bearings or belts, or supporting an equipment upgrade that advances continuous improvement goals. Throughout the day you collaborate with production, engineering, and leadership—always with OSHA safety standards in mind.

- Perform precision mechanical repairs: bearings, belts, chains, seals, and alignment
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work orders (CMMS experience preferred)
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and OSHA requirements
