Vice President Mid-Corporate Sports Relationship Manager
About this role:
Wells Fargo Commercial Banking Middle Market Group is seeking a Vice President to support Relationship Managers in the Sports Banking Group(“SBG”). SBG aligns dedicated coverage and credit teams to cover the professional sports industry for Wells Fargo. In this role, you will:
- Lead structuring, modification, and renewal of complex loans and certain other industry specific solutions with Sports Banking clients in Commercial Banking, by analyzing financials, presenting to clients, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and partnering with senior peers to execute more complex transactions
- Review, understand and offer the full suite of solutions offered by Wells Fargo to SBG clients to meet complex needs that require solid understanding and an in-depth evaluation, by engaging product organizations to develop client specific solutions, leveraging a solid understanding of clients’ businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions
- Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations, which require a solid understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior level managers to resolve client issues while achieving Wells Fargo’s business objectives, by helping clients navigate Wells Fargo’s processes, escalating inquiries when needed, and identifying and recommending opportunities for process improvements and risk control enhancements and achieve goals; serve as a peer mentor
- Review, understand and offer the full suite of solutions offered by Wells Fargo to meet complex needs that may require an in-depth evaluation, by engaging product organizations to develop client specific solutions, leveraging a solid understanding of clients’ businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions
- Drive relationship planning activities to deliver the full suite of solutions and maintain sales and pipeline disciplines, by keeping information current in relevant systems such as Customer Relationship Management systems
- Cultivate relationships to source new clients, in coordination with senior coverage bankers on the team
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Mid-Corporate Relationship Management or Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Intermediate knowledge and understanding of core commercial banking and investment products: deposits, commercial credit, and treasury
- Prior experience financing professional sports businesses is a plus
- Successfully completed FINRA Series 63 and Series 79 exam to qualify for immediate registration (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
- Experience with underwriting complex credit and debt structure
- Foundational ability to interpret financial statements, summarize findings and structure credit transactions
- Experience working with financial modeling
- Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Demonstrated high level of initiative and accountability
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal partners
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related business degree
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Job Expectations:
- This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired. - Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition, state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance
- Obtaining FINRA Series 63 and Series 79, or equivalent must be completed within 180-days of date of hire if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite may also be required
- This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. In accordance with FINRA rules, individuals who are subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents
Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$159,000.00 - $305,000.00Benefits
