CVICU RN Job Details – Albany, NY

• Position Type: Locum tenens (Travel Registered Nurse)
• Specialty: CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit)
• Location: Albany, NY 12208 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/5/2025 – End: 1/4/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2520–$2580
• Scrub Color: Navy blue
• EMR: Epic

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending New York state license considered
• 2-3 years of recent CVICU nursing experience required
• Experience in trauma level one hospital settings
• Proven competency with immediate postoperative cardiac and vascular surgery patients
• Advanced clinical skills in hemodynamic monitoring, ventilators, arterial lines, spinal drains, ECG interpretation, temporary pacemakers, and vasoactive/inotropic drip titration
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Competency test required within 24 hours of submission

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to CVICU patients, including post-cardiac and vascular surgery cases
• Monitor and manage patients with advanced hemodynamic needs in a critical care environment
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators, arterial lines, spinal drains, and temporary pacemakers
• Interpret ECGs and titrate vasoactive/inotropic drips as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other critical care units as required
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
