- Perform set-up, operation, inspection, and tear-down of large water-cooled chillers in an engineering laboratory environment.
- Connect, operate, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems on Charlotte-manufactured equipment.
- Maintain and monitor test setups, identifying malfunctions and ensuring safe, reliable operation.
- Apply knowledge of industrial electrical systems (including 460-3-60 machinery and medium-voltage power supplies).
- Support engineering testing activities under moderate supervision, ensuring accurate data collection and equipment performance.
- Utilize and maintain industrial tools and equipment with precision and safety.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting background; proven mechanical aptitude.
- Minimum 3 years of experience using hand and pneumatic tools.
- Ability to lift and move up to 35 lbs safely.
- *Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HVAC systems or other large commercial/industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of pumps, VFDs, boilers, and refrigerant handling (EPA certification a plus).
- Familiarity with LO/TO procedures and Arc Flash safety training.
- Experience with instrumentation setup, troubleshooting, and calibration (pressure, temperature, electrical measurements).
- Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong PC skills for data entry and test documentation.
- Forklift and overhead crane operation experience preferred
