• Location: Asheville, NC 28801
• Healthcare Setting: Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Job Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-Hour Days (5:30AM – 6:00PM)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1640–$1680
• Unit Size: 30 Preop Bays, 16 Phase 2 Bays
• Patient Ratio: 3:1
• Weekend Call: 1-2 times per 6-week schedule
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue or surgical scrubs

PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of PACU nursing or critical care experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (current)
• Strong IV insertion, assessment, and critical thinking skills
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records preferred

PACU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver pre- and post-anesthesia care to surgical patients in a high-volume PACU setting
• Monitor patient recovery, vital signs, and manage pain effectively
• Perform IV insertions, medication administration, and patient assessments
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and surgical healthcare teams
• Float between Preop, Phase 2, and PACU units as needed
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR system
• Participate in weekend call rotation as scheduled
