McCuiston Law Offices is seeking a highly motivated part-time (20-25 hours a week) legal administrative assistant who can provide key support in our dynamic, fast-paced environment. Our tight-knit team currently comprises three attorneys, one office manager, and three experienced paralegals. This position reports directly to the full-time office manager.
To be successful, a candidate must be friendly, positive, and respectful, as well as hyper-organized, able to work independently, have acute attention to detail, and be well attuned to client needs. Time management is crucial. Additionally, a successful candidate will provide critical administrative support to our attorneys and paralegals, ultimately giving the firm the capacity to take on more clients.
Preference will be given to candidates with administrative experience in a law firm (or another fast-paced professional environment, such a medical or dental office) including calendaring and phone reception, a CPA license, an accounting degree and/or paralegal certification, or willingness to attain paralegal certification.

About the Position
- This position is part-time, in-office .
- The schedule is Monday-Thursday , 12pm – 5pm , with some Fridays as work necessitates.
Compensation
- $15-$20 an hour, [MN3] commensurate with skills and experience.

Responsibilities
- Greeting clients, guests, and visitors and welcoming them to the firm.
- Answering the telephone while utilizing a multiline phone system.
- Tracking deadlines and managing attorney calendars.
- Opening files, inputting client data, and corresponding with clients.
- Scanning, copying, and emailing documents to third parties.
- Processing a variety of correspondence, memoranda, reports, and documents.
- Maintaining an inviting reception area.
- Sorting, scanning and delivering mail, processing correspondence for mailing and filing.
- Maintaining and ordering office supplies.
- Retrieving deed information through various Register of Deed resources.
- Performing routine administrative and clerical support tasks.
Requirements
- Minimum two years’ customer service, customer relations, account management, or other similar experience.
- Ability to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor with clients, in person and by phone.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
- Do not use AI in communications with us, if you do, we will reject your application.
- Associate’s degree in legal administrative studies, or similar field of study.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years’ experience as legal admin assistant in a firm specializing in one of our practice areas (Estate Planning, Real Estate, Tax, Corporate).
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Familiarity with cloud-based law practice management programs, including CosmoLex.
- Certification as Notary Public or willingness to attain.
- A cover letter and/or writing samples are not required for this position but will be favored when considering applications.
- Strong preference given to candidates with or willingness to attain:
- CPA license or accounting degree
- Paralegal certification or experience
