• Location: Hickory, NC 28601 – scenic foothills of North Carolina; Hickory healthcare opportunity
• Assignment Type: Travel nurse (Travel ER RN)
• Start Date: May 31, 2026
• End Date: August 30, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days (07:00–19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: Rotating every other weekend
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner EHR experience preferred
• Unit: 32-bed Emergency Department (ED) — trauma, stroke, STEMI, pediatric to geriatric

Required Qualifications — ER RN / Emergency Nurse

• Active RN license (state licensure or multi-state compact RN as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years recent Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience
• Current certifications: ACLS; PALS or ENPC; NIHSS
• Strong critical care thinking, triage, and stamina for a high-volume ED
• Excellent communication, patient experience, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
• Ability to float to other units as needed within competency
• Energetic, professional, and patient-focused demeanor
• Must reside at least 60 miles from Hickory, NC to qualify for travel nurse status

Responsibilities — Emergency Department RN Duties

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population (pediatrics through geriatrics)
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a 32-bed ED
• Rapidly respond to emergencies including trauma, stroke alerts, and STEMI activations
• Use critical care equipment and perform ED nursing procedures per scope of practice
• Document accurately and efficiently in Cerner EHR
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide patient and family education, support, and discharge instructions
• Float to other areas as needed based on competencies and unit census; adhere to hospital policies and dress code

Compensation

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,640–$1,730/week
