Position Summary

Oversees the vision, strategy and plan development of creating a deeper emotional connection with our customers to build loyalty, trust and Brand Reputation by delivering on our Brand promise. This role will lead a team to nurture and grow our Brand's philanthropic platform, Food Lion Feeds that provides our neighbors access to food throughout our communities. Also responsible for the development of strong relationships with key “feeding agencies” to create impactful programs for our communities. This position acts as the primary spokesperson for Food Lion Feeds. In addition, this position is held accountable to oversee the strategic development and flawless execution of localized, community programs that individually connects with customers. In addition, this role provides thought leadership and oversees the development of an annual strategic marketing calendar and targeted media plans that will create an impactful customer experience leading to increased share of wallet.

Principles Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of the strategic vision for Food Lion's hunger relief program, Food Lion Feeds and comprehensive activation plan with detailed financial and performance program measurement.
  • Provide strategic leadership in the management and development of local activation plans that are customized for our communities and deliver on set KPI's.
  • Develop a relationship with our key partners that are essential to helping serve those who are food insecure.
  • Provide strategic updates and progress regularly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leads Brand engagement with media channels through a comprehensive strategy that leverages paid, earned and owned media that delivers on the strategic Brand pillars.
  • Oversees media planning & buying (broadcast & digital) with a continuous improvement approach to optimizing the buy through rigorous performance analysis methodologies
  • Engage with the Food Lion Leadership Team to gain their support and participation in key activities.
  • Member of the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation and provides strategic oversight in their programs

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong collaboration and integration with key stakeholders, including CR partners, civic leaders, community influencers, agency partners and others.
  • Demonstrated consistent ability with time management and attention to detail.
  • Seasoned level of knowledge for company, business and industry practices.
  • Perfected ability to manage an internal team and create strong personal growth plans.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong collaboration and integration with key stakeholders, including CR partners, civic leaders, community influencers, agency partners and others.
  • Demonstrated consistent ability with time management and attention to detail.
  • Seasoned level of knowledge for company, business and industry practices.

Education

  • Master's Degree (preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience

  • 10 years' experience and proven success developing and executing Consumer marketing strategy and plan

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to build and lead teams through the development of strong working relationships and alliances within the company.
  • Ability to lead teams to ensure strategic initiatives are met and KPI's are delivered.
  • Ability to lead the development of direct reports through coaching and developmental feedback; ensures development plans are in place.
  • Ability to present and lead conversations throughout all levels of the organization.

Competencies

  • Deep knowledge of consumer relations and marketing including demonstrated ability to create a positive impact through these programs for the Brand.

Travel

  • Moderate: 30% or as needed
