Position Summary
The Service Plumber is responsible for a balanced mix of new plumbing installation and service work, including preventative maintenance (PM) programs, inspections, and repairs. This role responds to emergency plumbing calls, maintains and repairs all natural gas services (including valves), and provides general plumbing and drain cleaning services.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Arrive on time and maintain a professional demeanor
- Inspect, diagnose, and resolve plumbing issues, including emergency calls
- Install, modify, and repair pipes, fixtures, and supports for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids
- Assemble and install fittings, valves, and related components
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on plumbing systems
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics for accurate installation and service
- Maintain and repair natural gas services, including valves
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members, delivering strong customer service
Requirements
Qualifications
- Previous professional plumbing experience required
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Strong service orientation and customer focus
- Valid plumbing license (if required by state or local regulations)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces
Preferred Experience
- Experience with both new construction and service plumbing work
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and emergency response protocols
