Quality Logistics Operator - 1st Shift Role Overview As a Quality Logistics Operator, you will play a key role in supporting continuous improvement within the quality department. This position involves hands-on tasks to ensure proper handling of nonconforming materials, maintaining high standards of workplace organization, and assisting in root cause analysis efforts. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely disassembly, mutilation, and disposal of scrap materials
- Operate a forklift to remove and dispose of materials from production areas
- Maintain accurate records of weights for disposed materials
- Communicate status updates on waste dumpsters to quality and shipping teams, both orally and in writing
- Support engineering root cause analysis by cutting nonconforming products using a band saw
- Maintain saw room and material storage areas to the highest 5S standards
- Change out forklift fuel tanks as needed
- Work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities effectively
- Communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in testing or quality assurance
- Familiarity with basic hand tools (e.g., hammer, screwdriver)
- Strong situational awareness and safety focus
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Physical requirements: occasional lifting up to 50 lbs; frequent squatting, bending, stooping, sitting, stretching; standing and walking for extended periods; full range of motion and manual dexterity
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, rain, cold)
- Must have valid work authorization to work for ABB in the U.S.
- Knowledge of 5S principles
- Forklift experience
