Afterschool Care Provider

Asheville Community Movement in Asheville, NC has open positions for Afterschool Caregivers to join our team for the coming school year.

We are looking for energetic, compassionate, positive, hard-working, and reliable people to add to our After-school Team. We currently have openings for caregivers to work 2-5 afternoons a week from 2-6 pm.

Asheville Community Movement is a gymnastics facility with a vibrant after school program. Our Movers and Shakers program provides our after school students access to a well-equipped gym and a safe, well-supervised program with organized physical activity like basketball, gymnastics, and dance. We also provide special interest clubs like art, music, gardening, group games, and archery.

Job responsibilities would include

1. leading club activities
2. supervising children during snack time, play time, and clubs
3. providing a positive, fun, and nurturing environment
4. making sure kids are safe and happy
5. mediating conflicts
6. contributing to general organization and clean up
7. picking up kids from school in an ACM van
8. helping with homework
9. contribute to the continuous improvement efforts to provide the best possible experience for Asheville Community Movement families
10. following the policies and adhering to the mission and vision of Asheville Community Movement

Required Job Qualifications:

1. Experience working with children
2. Energetic, compassionate, team player
3. An engaging personality and authentic concern for others and the planet
4. Able to drive passenger van to pick up children from school

Preferred:

1. First Aid Certification
2. Child Care, Education, or Psychology courses
3. Experience working or training in a gymnastics facility
4. Experience teaching in classroom or sports
5. Experience as day camp or after school counselor

Parenting or older sibling experience also very helpful in this position.

Pay DOE

Benefits include PTO for full-time, Dental Insurance, Summer and Annual bonus

This position is part-time if only afterschool position but can be full-time for someone who can also contribute to other business needs like cleaning, maintenance and repairs, and office work.
