Associate Pastor
Second Baptist Church Greenville, KY is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor to serve in adult pastoral ministry and care, church operations, and Christian education ministry.

Qualifications:
The Associate Pastor must be a man who is called and directed by God and exhibits the qualities outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Ephesians 4:11-13, Titus 1:6-9, 1 Peter 5:2-3, and Acts 6:4.
Second Baptist Church seeks to make disciples through knowing, going for, growing in and showing Jesus. The Associate Pastor should demonstrate the qualities, personally and professionally, that support and fulfill this mission, and that honor the Christian faith.
At a minimum, the Associate Pastor should have a bachelor’s degree, ideally in theology, Biblical studies, or pastoral counseling. Ordination eligibility is essential. A graduate degree from an accredited seminary will be a plus.
Responsibilities:
The primary function of this role is to assist the Sr. Pastor in carrying out the ministry of the church. While not an exhaustive list, the key areas of responsibility may include:
· Building and maintaining a good relationship with the Sr. Pastor and others on the pastoral team.
· Leading Wednesday night prayer meetings, delivering prepared Bible studies for adults, preaching in the Sr. Pastor’s absence and at other times as requested, and assisting other pastors in overall church/worship planning and activities.
· Sharing pastoral care with the ministerial staff, including visiting hospitals, nursing homes, shut-ins, and funeral homes, as well as performing baptisms, communion, weddings, and funerals as requested.
· Creating and supporting ministry opportunities for Junior/Senior adults.
· Collaborating with the Connections Pastor to assist in the promotion of outreach.
· Assisting in providing Christian counseling as needed.
· Providing administrative leadership and operational support for the church office, including assisting the Pastors, Financial Secretary, and various committees and seasonal ministries.
· Overseeing the sourcing, ordering, and distribution of Christian educational literature and/or programs.
