Supplier Quality Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer for a Contract with a client in Salem, NC. Candidates must have strong exposure to forging, casting, machining, sheet‑metal fabrication, and GD&T to qualify.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $46/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Supplier Quality Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Conduct supplier primary evaluations, PCPA audits, and APQP implementation to ensure supplier capability and compliance with engineering standards.

• Lead tool kickoff, monitor tool development progress, and oversee readiness of fixtures, gauges, and tooling for production.

• Manage tool trials (T0, T1, T2, T3), review part‑fitment reports, and drive corrective actions to achieve fit‑and‑function approval.

• Perform design reviews, risk assessments, and mitigation planning while ensuring smooth communication between internal engineering and suppliers.

• Oversee ECN/FETE implementations, testing, validation, and safe launch activities to support flawless SOP and production ramp‑up.

• Ensure final development handover and drive continuous supplier performance improvement across quality, delivery, and execution.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• 6–8 years of experience in supplier quality, tooling development, or manufacturing engineering within heavy engineering or fabrication environments.

• Strong technical expertise in forging, casting, machining, sheet‑metal fabrication, GD&T, and interpreting complex engineering drawings.

• Proven experience managing supplier evaluations, APQP processes, tool development cycles (T0–T3), and fit‑function approvals with effective cross‑functional collaboration.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $46.00 per hour
