As a Medication Technician (Med Tech), you'll play a vital role in ensuring juveniles in custody receive medications safely and accurately. Working under nursing supervision, you'll help maintain compliance with facility and state regulations while delivering meaningful, hands-on care in an outpatient setting.

✅ Qualifications
✔️ Education: High school diploma or equivalent
✔️ Licensure:
Current NAI & NAII listings (North Carolina Board of Nursing and Division of Facility Services registries)
CPR Certification (Healthcare Provider)
Completion of NC DAC Medication Technician training
✔️ Experience: 1+ year as CNA/Med Tech preferred
✔️ Technical Skills:
Familiarity with medication protocols
HERO (Health Care Electronic Records for Offenders) training, including eMAR use
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
✔️ Soft Skills:
Detail-oriented documentation
Clear and professional communication
Crisis management and calm under pressure

✅ Key Responsibilities
✔️ Administer prescribed medications, ensuring correct patient, drug, dosage, route, and timing
✔️ Accurately document all administrations in the electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR)
✔️ Report any adverse reactions or medication discrepancies to the supervising nurse
✔️ Assist the Medical Records Assistant as needed
✔️ Protect the confidentiality and integrity of resident medical information
✔️ Support patients with daily activities and wellness monitoring
✔️ Keep medication carts stocked and compliant with facility protocols
✔️ Collaborate and communicate with residents, families, and healthcare staff
