PROJECT SCHEDULER
Job Title: Project Scheduler Start Date: ASAP Job Type: Contract - 12 months (possible extensions based on performance) Pay Rate: $70-85/hr Location: Clayton, NC Schedule: Onsite, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Job Summary: The Project Scheduler is responsible for generating, updating, and maintaining project schedules across a portfolio of pharmaceutical projects. This role ensures that schedules are accurate, current, and reflective of project progress, and provides reporting to portfolio and project managers to support effective decision-making. Working closely with project teams and the Portfolio Manager, the Project Scheduler coordinates schedule updates, monitors timelines, identifies potential delays, and facilitates communication across stakeholders to keep projects on track. Smartsheet and Primavera P6 are the primary tools used to manage and track project progress. Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and maintain schedules for a portfolio of pharmaceutical projects ranging from $50,000 to $1MM+.
- Generate schedule reports and track project milestones, dependencies, and critical paths.
- Liaise with individual project teams to gather updates and incorporate them into portfolio-level schedules.
- Ensure schedule data is accurate and consistent across tools including Primavera P6 and Smartsheet.
- Support the Portfolio Manager by providing insights into schedule risks, delays, and resource impacts.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders to proactively identify and resolve schedule-related issues.
- Assist in portfolio reporting, metrics, and status updates for management and executive teams.
- Maintain alignment with project scope, timelines, and budget objectives.
- Extensive experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software for pharmaceutical projects.
- Strong Smartsheet knowledge and reporting experience.
- Experience managing schedules for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven ability to liaise with cross-functional teams and stakeholders effectively.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capability.
- Proactive, self-starter with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Pharmaceutical project experience is mandatory.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and communication.
- Experience working in a portfolio/project management environment with multiple concurrent projects.
- Ability to identify scheduling risks and recommend solutions proactively.
