Worship Pastor (Interim or Full time)

*(Note: We are seeking an Interim Worship Pastor that could lead to a permanent position.) Interim Worship Pastor First Baptist Church Swannanoa – Swannanoa, North Carolina Scope: The Interim Worship Pastor serves in the worship ministry, coordinating service elements, scheduling the people involved in those elements, as well as assisting with the planning of special events. The Interim Worship Pastor will bring leadership and innovation both spiritually and musically. They will work alongside the worship team as an arranger for all things music for Sunday morning services. Supervisions: The Personnel Committee will supervise the Interim Worship Pastor until the next Senior Pastor is officially on staff. The Interim Worship Pastor will collaborate with the Interim Senior Pastor in planning worship services until the next Senior Pastor is officially on staff. Qualifications: 1. Must have a vital personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, with strong Christian spiritual and moral character. 2. Must be called to serve in ministry. 3. Must be able to submit to the spiritual authority of the Interim Senior Pastor/Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church of Swannanoa. 4. Must have the ability to plan, organize, and direct the worship ministry of the church. 5. Must have the ability to connect well, relationally, with church members. 6. Must be a self-starter with proven ability to develop and implement strategy. Responsibilities: 1. The Interim Worship Pastor will oversee the worship environment. 2. Participate in planning worship sets. 3. Assist team in the set-up of technical areas including Planning Center, Pro Presenter and Multi Tracks. 4. Coordinate service elements; scheduling the people involved in those elements, as well as assisting with the planning of special events. 5. Foster a team atmosphere among all volunteers in the worship ministry. 6. Recruit future worship team members. 7. Lead rehearsal one weekday evening each week, and Sunday morning prior to Bible studies and worship service. Personal Discipleship: 1. Maintain a vital and growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ through consistent time in the Word and prayer. 2. Model the practice of wise stewardship, with both time, and church resources. Hours The Interim Worship Pastor will work up to 40 hours per week. Rehearsal sessions are required; one weekday evening and Sunday morning with the Worship Team; and leading worship during the Sunday morning worship service. Additionally, he/she will be required to commit to planning time for song choices to support the message brought by the Interim Senior Pastor/Senior Pastor.
