Job Description:
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support financial operations across active construction projects. This individual will assist with project budgeting, billing administration, cost tracking, contract compliance, and vendor coordination. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in construction accounting and be comfortable working closely with project managers and internal accounting teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and monitor project budgets, cost reports, and financial records
- Process project billings, including AIA billing documentation and payment applications
- Support accounts payable functions, including invoice processing and subcontractor payments
- Track receivables and assist with collections efforts
- Manage lien waiver documentation and ensure compliance requirements are met
- Assist with contract administration and project setup within the accounting system
- Reconcile project costs and support monthly close activities
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams regarding project financials
- Prepare and maintain reporting related to project performance and costs
- Provide administrative and accounting support for ongoing construction projects
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry
- Experience with AIA billing and construction contract documentation
- Familiarity with lien waivers, subcontractor compliance, and insurance documentation
- Hands-on experience with AP processing and AR collections
- Proficiency with Viewpoint Vista is required
- Strong Excel skills; experience with Sage 300 is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Additional Details:
- Contract length: 3–6 months
- Fully onsite position
- Business casual office environment
- Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
