To support our mission, we are seeking a Campaign Coordinator to join our Offshore Wind Energy team, which works as part of our larger Climate and Energy Program to support the responsible development of offshore wind energy off of all three US coasts. We advocate at the federal, state, and local levels to establish and implement ambitious offshore wind commitments and to ensure stringent wildlife protections, strong labor standards, community benefits, and stakeholder engagement are in place every step of the way. The Campaign Coordinator, Offshore Wind Energy will support significant portions of state and regional offshore wind campaigns across our target states. The person who fills this role will assist in campaign planning, collaborate with and support the offshore wind team in implementation of priority campaign activities, cultivate new and existing partnerships, and represent NWF’s Offshore Wind Energy team in work with partner organizations and at public events.

Principle Duties (major areas of responsibility):

Support Planning and Implementing State and Regional Offshore Wind Energy Campaigns:

  • Support the development of select state and regional campaign plans
  • Help to execute campaign activities (communications, digital, and field organizing) individually and with partner organizations, including planning campaign organizing meetings and events, building and distributing advocacy toolkits, and supporting partner and activist engagement
  • Support the tracking of campaign activities by writing timely reports as needed
  • Represent NWF in coalition settings
  • Represent NWF at public meetings and events

Offshore Wind Energy Campaign Support:

  • Help update and maintain NWF’s Offshore Wind Energy website, including creating content and facilitating guest content from partners
  • Support the production of program resources, such as fact sheets and slide decks
  • Facilitate information sharing and coordination with NWF’s Climate and Energy Program, other program and regional staff, and affiliates
  • Fulfill limited administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling, note-taking, and maintaining and organizing digital records

Qualifications:

  • Passion for addressing climate change in creative and pragmatic ways that allow wildlife and people of all backgrounds to survive and thrive
  • Campaign and/or organizing experience, either in a professional or volunteer setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Self-starter able to work effectively in both a team-based and independent environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • A demonstrated and documented interest and experience in climate or clean energy policy and/or advocacy. This can include a BA/BS in a related field, or at least 2 years of relevant professional or volunteer experience.

Travel Requirements:

There will be frequent travel of approximately 2-3 trips per quarter associated with this role.

Location and Work Mode:

It is preferable that this position be based in the Washington DC area or the Mid-Atlantic region (DE, MD, VA, or NC), but qualified candidates based in other locations are welcome. Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $55,000-$60,000, commensurate with experience.
