Acute Care RN Job Details

• Job Title: Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens
• Employment Type: Travel nursing contract / Locum tenens
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Location: Brevard, North Carolina 28712
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: November 24, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday count as weekend shifts)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570–$1610

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care or PCU nursing experience
• Medical telemetry experience preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• CMSRN certification encouraged
• Charge Nurse or nursing leadership experience preferred
• BSN preferred

Acute Care RN Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care/PCU environment
• Monitor patients using medical remote telemetry and Cerner Patient Observation systems
• Prepare patients for procedures including Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology (IR), and Operating Room (OR)
• Document patient care using Cerner Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including RNs, CNAs, HUCs, and sitters
• Float to sister units (Medical-Surgical: 3W, 5W, K8) as needed
• Uphold unit guidelines and hospital policies to support the mission of improving patient outcomes
