About the Position: We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical/RCDD Engineer to lead the research, development, and production of electrical and low-voltage construction drawings. This is a high-impact role that blends sophisticated power distribution design with Information Communications Technology (ICT) expertise. You will lead projects from concept to conclusion, ensuring innovative healthcare initiatives are delivered on time, under budget, and to the highest industry standards. Key Responsibilities Design Leadership: Drive the electrical design process for complex healthcare facilities, ensuring all systems meet client goals and enhance patient care. Healthcare Systems Design: Develop specialized hospital electrical and telecommunication systems, including emergency generators, UPS systems, and automatic transfer switches (ATS). Technical Analysis: Perform critical engineering computations including arc-flash hazard analysis, short-circuit calculations, breaker coordination, and medium-voltage distribution design. ICT & Low-Voltage: Develop and review specifications for ICT systems, including material requirements, performance criteria, and installation techniques in accordance with ANSI/TIA standards. Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 72 (Fire Alarm), ANSI/TIA, and local building norms. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate power, lighting, and low-voltage systems into the overarching building design. Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, clear instructions, and constructive feedback to designers and junior engineers to ensure project success and professional growth. Required Qualifications Licensure: Current Professional Engineer (PE) License and RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) License are both required. Registration: NCEES Registration is required. Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in the A/E industry, with at least 2 years as a licensed professional. Proven experience in healthcare projects is required. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite. Logistics: U.S. Citizenship is required (Federal Contractor status); ability to travel up to 20% based on project needs. Preferred Qualifications Certifications: LEED, CEM (Certified Energy Manager), or LC (Lighting Certified).
